Self-care is the most essential kind of care. If you cannot take care of yourself, how can you possibly be able to care for others? Even, a flight attendant on a plane tells everyone on board that if anything was to happen for everyone to put on their face mask before helping anyone else. It’s not about being selfish, it’s simply common sense. How are you going to help someone while you are gasping for air? You can be of no use to people in need because you both are now stuck in a situation where both of you need help, but neither of you guys are capable of helping each other because y’all both can’t breathe. The only way you’ll be able to make sure the people around you are okay, is if you are okay. below are ways in which a lioness/goddess can care for herself mentally.
Self-care falls into four categories: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. The mind, body, heart, and soul are all connected. So, you want to take care of all of them equally, you ignore one and it will affect them all. It is challenging keeping up the well-being of self and also dealing with life’s reality so I decided to create 4 different lists with four important ways of maintaining self-care; breaking it down by mental, physical, emotional and spiritual care.
Ways You Can Practice Mental Health Awareness
To help maintain your mental health, getting enough sleep is essential. Sleep promotes dreams and dreams helps to create reality. Sleep also helps lower the risk of sleep deprivation which affects your psychological state and mental health. Connecting with friends, family, and your significant other (even friendly strangers) is another form of mental care. Being in tune with the world around you helps to remind you that you are not alone, something humans must remember to keep us sane.
Another form of mental care is seeking “professional”. This is often overlooked, it is very vital because supportive therapy helps patients deal with issues related to their mental health conditions. A lot of us don’t realize we are suffering from mental health issues so we never get the help we need. Therapy helps us discover what is going on in our minds subconsciously, enabling us to be able to find healthy ways to cope and even eliminate mental disorders and conditions.
Last but not least, as a goddess you can care for yourself mentally. Meditation is another very important way of mental care. During meditation, you are clearing your thoughts and relaxing not only the mind but the body and soul. During this time, you can find clarity on things that may be bothering you or you don’t understand. Meditation also helps with depression and anxiety. Have you been doing these things? If not, today is the day you should start. Start practicing healthy ways to care for your mind.
